I forget to bring them in when the weather starts to get cold so they decide that it's Christmas and begin to bloom. Every year a little earlier. They are supposed to be Christmas cactus but usually they are Thanksgiving cactus and now they are blooming before Halloween!

I cheated with one of mine. It's about 50 years old and I inherited it from my grandma. The other I have had for 10 years now :-)

They are the only plants i've ever managed to keep alive! Yes, I even kill lucky bamboo....

The trick seems to be to put them out in the sun as soon as possible and water them only when they start getting a bit droopy and then bring them in when it gets cold.

I repotted the other one and now regret it as its frikkin huge now :-( takes up half my livingroom :-(

I sprinkly a little osmocote on them in the spring and mid summer.....
