Riot funds their pro scene directly as well as the prize pools. Also using sponsors is a normal practice in sports; the presence of sponsors indicates that companies see advertising value in reaching the audience. Basically, the more sponsorship money you have, the bigger the event.
idk why you're so salty - if dota2 is the better game then the player numbers should reflect that

Well as i said League is a bit more relaxing and easy to play game and it is more appealing to the casual player as where dota is much more harder on starting players, but it gives more of a reward if you learn how to play it as it has more depth.
Here you answer me this, Bieber and Gangnam style videos get billions of views on Youtube while some really really great music like AC/DC and others for example get something like 100mil 50mil etc?
Same goes with LoL, numbers dont mean much at all.

Meanwhile the prize pool for worlds 2015 was over 2m, which all came out of riot's pocket
Riot also puts a lot of "hidden" money into competitive league - unlike valve they run their top tier competitions in-house as much as possible. Valve instead relies on outside organizations to run the tournaments.
Granted I'm not familiar with dota2, but from what people say about it, the game is far more individual-focused than team focused when compared to league. League's de-emphasis of individual mechanics doesn't make it a more "casual" game - it means that it promotes a more macro level of play (which is in fact much harder to grasp).

There is a reason AC/DC is a go to for cover bands in the bar/pub scene....because its an easy 4/4 beat that any drunk idiot can dance to
Nothing serious musicality wise there
